Entropy, acrylic on canvas
-Ute, we'd love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today, both personally and as an artist.
I enjoy art. I really love painting and changing the empty space on the canvas with color and texture. I have a lot of freedom to choose what motif or theme I take up. I have always the opportunity to develop further. My paths in my pictures tend to run between a kind of reality and an individual abstraction.
I work with all facets of nature. My personal impression is a reflection and I work regularly to reduce the realistic impression to an artwork which shows the essentials or become sometime an full abstract artwork.

-Your work beautifully balances bold energy with refined control, creating a dynamic interplay between order and chaos. What attracts you to this contrast and how does it shape your artistic approach?
I detect constantly new forms and structures to create. I am very free in my expression and follow very often the move of my paintbrush and the music in my ears.

Vibration, acrylic on canvas
-You mention that your paintings begin with a glazed underpainting. How does this foundational layer influence the rest of the painting process?
The colors come from underneath and give the picture a lot of depth right from the beginning.

Connection, acrylic on canvas
-Negative space plays an intriguing role in your compositions, allowing the forms and textures to breathe. How do you approach negative space in your work?
The negative area lies next to the center of attention for the viewer and highlights the main actor in this painting. It depends often how I approach the idea of the image in my head.

-What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?

Statement
In addition of delving into the world of abstract paintings without any restrictions on shape, color and size another thematic focus is also on flora and landscape, especially the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. Moods, structures and colors flow into my work.
My painting moves between expressive colors and watercolor-like acrylic paint application. The consciously used juxtaposition of order and controlled chaos always begins with a translucent colored underpainting. The finished picture is then created by applying many translucent and opaque layers of color.
